Arc Battlemage Targets Late 2024 Release

At CES 2024, Intel‘s researcher Tom Peterson granted an interview to the press, wherein he revisited the eagerly anticipated next-generation Arc “Battlemage” graphics card, emphasizing that the new products, leveraging the Xe2-HPG architecture, are slated for a 2024 release, with assurances of divulging more details in due course.

Recent dispatches from ComputerBase suggest insights from industry insiders, projecting Intel’s launch of the next-gen Arc Battlemage “Xe2” GPU by the end of 2024, strategically aligning with the annual American shopping event, Black Friday (November 29), heralding an opportune moment for market entry. Notably, the inaugural Arc series graphics card made its debut in October 2022, positioning the rumored release precisely two years apart, at a time when both NVIDIA and AMD are poised to unveil new architectural offerings, setting the stage for a renewed round of intense competition in the graphics card arena.

Leaks have surfaced concerning certain Battlemage GPU models and specifications, confirming the existence of Battlemage GPUs G21 and G10, with rumors also including a G31 variant. The G10 model, a flagship GPU with a TDP of less than 225W, and the G21, a mainstream GPU with a TDP under 150W, are essentially replacements for the current ACM-G10.

The next-generation flagship Battlemage chip, G10, is rumored to boast 56 Xe cores, corresponding to 448 XVEs (Execution Units), with each XVE comprising 2 shaders, an Adamantine cache of 112MB, paired with GDDR6X memory, expected to be 16GB in capacity and a 256-bit memory bus. The upcoming GPU continues its partnership with TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) for fabrication, employing a 4nm process technology, with the card’s power consumption meticulously maintained at 225W.
