Apple will launch AirPods 3 in the first half of next year

Almost all of us now know that Apple will hold a new product launch event on September 10th, and we also know that Apple will release four new flagship models: iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Max, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max, but don’t know much about other new products.

Today, DigiTimes reported that Apple will update its highly acclaimed AirPods true wireless headset product line in the first half of next year, launching a new AirPods 3.

According to industry insiders, Apple’s foundry company Inventec will undertake the manufacturing of AirPods 3 launched in the first half of next year, but its output will only account for 20% or less of the total required output of AirPods 3.

AirPods 3 noise reduction

In June of this year, well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also revealed the same news. He said that Apple will continue to sell the existing AirPods and AirPods Pro series products this year, and will not update the product lines of the two but will AirPods 3 will be launched in the first half of next year.

Ming-Chi Kuo pointed out that AirPods 3 will adopt the same design as AirPods Pro, but may not have the noise reduction function of AirPods Pro.

It makes sense that Apple chose not to equip AirPods 3 with active noise reduction, because if it is supported, the distinction between AirPods 3 and AirPods Pro may be very low, which is naturally not conducive to the sales of AirPods Pro, so Apple should not be equipped with active noise reduction for AirPods 3.
