Apple Music for Android reveals more details about lossless music services

For Apple Music to launch lossless sound quality services, 9to5Google’s recent discovery seems to further confirm this news. 9to5Google found in the Android version of the Apple Music app that Apple will provide two levels of “Lossless” and “High-res Lossless”. The former uses ALAC encoding to provide music up to 48kHz and the latter up to 192kHz.

Lossless audio files preserve every detail of the original file. Turning this on will consume significantly more data.

Lossless audio files will use significantly more space on your device. 10 GB of space could store approximately: – 3000 songs at high quality – 1000 songs with lossless – 200 songs with hi-res lossless

However, Dolby sound technology did not appear in the Apple Music 3.6.0 Beta APK file analyzed this time. Apple once added related updates in beta 1 of iOS 14.6, but it was deleted in beta 2.
Lossless sound quality seems to have become the next goal of music streaming products. As Apple Music’s “dead enemy”, Spotify recently announced the upcoming launch of a high-quality sound service called “Spotify HiFi”.
