Apple’s new 27-inch iMac exposed: don’t use miniLED display

Earlier, there were media reports that Apple is about to launch a 2022 iMac product, this new all-in-one machine is 27 inches in size, however, there is no mini LED display as previously rumored. Judging from the shipment situation in December, the 2022 27-inch iMac still uses the traditional LCD display.

Although abandoning the mini LED display, Apple still optimized and upgraded the LCD screen of the 2022 27-inch iMac. For example, its brightness is increased by 30-40% compared to the previous generation, and its appearance is designed to be thinner and lighter. In addition, in order to meet consumer demand for fashion, it is expected that Apple will provide a variety of color options for this 2022 27-inch iMac as it did with the 24-inch iMac.

As for the processor, there is no relevant news yet, but the 24-inch iMac that has been released is equipped with an Apple M1 chip. As an upgraded version, the 2022 27-inch iMac is expected to be equipped with M1 Pro or M1 Max chips to provide more powerful performance.

It’s worth mentioning that the report also pointed out, as the main supplier of Apple’s backlight module (BLM), Taiwan-based Radiant Opto-Electronics has manufactured a large number of 14-inch and 16-inch mini LED screens for Apple, generating a lot of revenue, of which the comprehensive income in November has increased to NT$5.16 billion ($185.51 million).

If nothing else, Apple will launch the 2022 27-inch iMac in the spring of next year.
