Android 14 is expected to be launched next year, the internal code name may be Upside Down Cake
Google is expected to release the official version of Android 13 this year, and a suspected new version of Android 14 codename appears on the Android Open Source Project page. A suspected new version of the Android 14 code name appears on the Android Open Source Project page. The code name may be “Upside Down Cake”, corresponding to the English letter “U”.
An upside-down cake is a cake that is baked “upside-down” in a single pan, with its toppings at the bottom of the pan. When removed from the oven, the finished upside-down preparation is flipped over and de-panned onto a serving plate, thus “righting” it, and serving it right-side up.
However, Google has not yet revealed the specific details of Android 14. This year’s Google I/O 2022 will focus on Android 13, and the internal code name is expected to be Tiramisu.
Since Android 10, Google will no longer announce the operating system version code, but it will still maintain the code name named after the dessert internally. The main reason is that Google doesn’t want some dessert names to make it difficult for users from different regions and cultural backgrounds to understand.
