Android 12’s internal codename “Snow Cone” is expected to be released in preview this month
Android 11 has been released for some time, but according to previous data, Android 10 is still the main force, accounting for nearly 40% of the Android system.
Although manufacturers don’t like to follow up with the latest version of Android, Google’s research and development still can’t stop. The recent leaks of Android 12 indicate that Google has made considerable changes in Android 12.
At present, XDA broke the news that the internal code name of Android 12 is called “Snow Cone”. It seems that Google regrets the move of giving up the name of the dessert as the system version code in Android 10.
However, considering the copyright issues faced by the previous quotation of the name of the dessert, Google will most likely not release the internal codename of Android 12 to the public, although Snow Cone is not a registered name. In fact, Android 11 also has an internal codename, called Red Velvet Cake, which is not known to most people.
According to the forecast news of the XDA forum, Android 12 will release a developer preview version before the end of this month. The official version will be released later this year, and it may be adapted to Pixel 5 or Pixel 4 first.
However, considering that the first technical preview version of the new version of the operating system will generally face very serious performance and stability issues, it is strongly recommended that ordinary users shouldn’t use this version on the main model.
