AMD’s Latest Benchmarks: Ryzen 7 7800X3D vs. Core i9-13900K in Gaming
At this year’s CES 2023, AMD unveiled a multitude of new products, among which the most eye-catching were the Ryzen 7000X3D series processors featuring 3D Vertical Cache (3D V-Cache) technology. Unlike the previous generation, which offered only the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, AMD has now launched the Ryzen 9 7950X3D, Ryzen 9 7900X3D, and Ryzen 7 7800X3D, all with an additional 64MB of L3 cache and a TDP of 120W.
The Ryzen 9 7950X3D and Ryzen 9 7900X3D are already available for purchase, while the Ryzen 7 7800X3D will hit the market on April 6th. AMD previously shared the gaming performance of the Ryzen 7 7800X3D for the first time, comparing it with Intel’s Core i9-13900K and the previous generation Ryzen 7 5800X3D. In four games, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D led the former by a margin of 13% to 24% and the latter by 21% to 30%.
Previous data had significant limitations and did not adequately represent the Ryzen 7 7800X3D’s gaming performance. According to VideoCardz, another AMD presentation provided additional gaming data for the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, still compared with the Core i9-13900K.
A total of 21 games were tested, all at 1080p resolution and high-quality settings. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D’s most significant lead was in “Horizon Zero Dawn,” at 31%. In six games, it fell short of the Core i9-13900K, with the most significant deficit in “CS:GO,” where it was 9% lower. Overall, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D led the Core i9-13900K by approximately 6.9% across these 21 games.
AMD has not officially announced the price of the Ryzen 7 7800X3D.
