AMD confirms Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5000WX series
It was reported two days ago that AMD is likely to showcase the Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5000WX series at CES on January 4 next year, and then release it on March 8, 2022. At present, the AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5000WX series has been listed on the SATA-IO website, confirming that the new product will be compatible with SATA 3Gbps/6Gbps, and also confirming the name of AMD’s next-generation HEDT platform.
However, there is still no news about the Ryzen Threadripper 5000 series. Perhaps like rumors, the Zen 3 architecture only has the Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5000WX series. This also means that the new product is not for consumers, but for professionals who need high-performance workstations. It was previously reported that the early stage after the release of the Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5000WX series is likely to be limited to OEM manufacturers, and it will take a while to enter the retail market.
The flagship model of the Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5000WX series is Ryzen Threadripper 5995WX, with 64 cores and 128 threads, which support eight channels of DDR4-3200 memory, provide 128 PCIe Gen 4.0 channels. In addition, it is rumored that Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5000WX series processors will have 12-core, 16-core, 24-core, 32-core, and 64-core products.
