AMD Ryzen 7000 series CPU new packaging exposure

As AMD’s Zen 4 architecture CPU codenamed Raphael draws nearer, more and more information about the product has been exposed. As reported by VideoCardz, a render of the Ryzen 7000 series CPU packaging has been received, featuring the new design.

The rendering shows that the new color box packaging is still in a simple style, with black as the main color, adding orange numbers and white text, and there will be a window in the middle to reveal the top cover of the CPU. The outer packaging belongs to Ryzen 9 and does not come with a radiator. If it is replaced with Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 5 with radiators, the design of the outer packaging should be different.

In addition, in addition to providing renderings, the other party also informed the overall pricing of the Ryzen 7000 series CPUs, basically following the strategy of the Ryzen 5000 series, but the high-end models will be slightly adjusted. The Ryzen 7 7700X is said to have the same MSRP as the Ryzen 7 5700X, although the Ryzen 7 7800X or above will be priced higher than the previous generation. This may be related to the increase in the manufacturing cost of chips. The Ryzen 7000 series uses TSMC’s 5nm process.

It is rumored that AMD may choose to release the Ryzen 7000 series desktop processors at 8:00 pm EST on August 29, 2022, and then the related products will be officially launched at 9:00 am EST on September 15, 2022. MSI has previously announced that its X670 series motherboards will be officially released on September 15, and there should be no doubt about the time.
