At CES 2022, AMD finally released the Radeon RX 6500XT/RX 6400. The new graphics card is based on Navi 24 core, manufactured with 6nm process, equipped with 16MB of infinite cache, equipped with 4GB of GDDR6 video memory, and the video memory bit width is 64 bits. Radeon RX 6500XT will be configured with 16 CUs, with 1024 stream processors, and will be available on January 19 with a suggested retail price of $199.
According to Cowcotland, a retailer in France has already listed the Radeon RX 6500XT, and the actual price has reached 299 euros. Although AMD has not announced the suggested retail price of the Radeon RX 6500 XT in Europe, the US region is used as a reference, combined with the past pricing situation, it should be around 200 euros under normal circumstances, which means that it is about 50% higher.
Previous reports have pointed out that the PCIe 4.0 interface of the Radeon RX 6500XT is only four-lane, and does not support 4K H.264/H.265 encoding and AV1 decoding. If the price is higher, it will further affect the choice of some users. In contrast, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 has double the memory, other features don’t seem to be reduced, the performance should be stronger, and the official price is 25% higher than the Radeon RX 6500 XT.
