AMD graphics card drivers can mess up Ryzen CPU settings in BIOS

AMD’s latest Radeon Adrenalin 22.3.1 WHQL driver update may cause RYZEN CPU settings to become confusing. This version of the graphics card driver brings the RSR function to the player’s gaming experience and it works well for now. But AMD may not realize that the graphics card driver can also mess up the CPU settings, some users found that after upgrading the new version of the graphics card driver, the CPU settings in the BIOS were messed up.

This problem may be caused by AMD adding “Auto Overclock” to the driver last September. This feature enables direct CPU and GPU overclocking in one place, eliminating the need for complicated settings through the RYZEN Master utility as before.

Another user said he had the problem back in January, so it’s certainly not a recent occurrence. After upgrading the graphics card driver, go to the BIOS to check the CPU settings, and you will find that the original settings have been messed up by the driver and need to be re-adjusted by the user. Of course, even after the user re-adjusts, it may still be messed up in the future.

At present, AMD does not know about this, so it does not know when it will be fixed. Previously, the problem of Windows 11 lag caused by AMD fTPM has not been solved, and AMD said that it will not be able to fix the problem until May. Therefore, it is estimated that the problem of CPU settings will take a long time to be fixed.
