AMD cooperates with Qualcomm to introduce FastConncet connectivity solution for Ryzen CPUs

AMD has announced a partnership with Qualcomm to introduce the Qualcomm FastConncet connectivity solution for Ryzen processor-based platforms. The first cooperation project between the two parties is the Ryzen PRO 6000 series processor, and the Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 connection system, which enables AMD’s latest business notebooks to have Wi-Fi 6/6E connectivity,  including advanced wireless features that support Windows 11.

According to AMD, through the cooperation with Microsoft, PCs installed with Windows 11, such as Lenovo ThinkPad Z series and HP EliteBook 805 series, can fully utilize the potential of Wi-Fi Dual Station through Qualcomm FastConnect 4-stream Dual Band Simultaneous.

Utilize multiple Wi-Fi frequency bands and antennas, including 2.4GHz and 5GHz, and even 6GHz, to solve the delay problem at the system level, achieve stability, reliability, and delay close to Ethernet which allows the Ryzen platform to take full advantage of the bandwidth and speed of the Wi-Fi network.

For IT administrators, this new combination provides a solution for remote management of AMD commercial platforms, enabling wireless manageability and support for a variety of widely used, open standards-based (DASH)-based profiles, AMD and Qualcomm have jointly unlocked enhancements to the IT management system.

Out-of-band Wi-Fi remote management is an important tool for enterprise IT managers to diagnose and fix issues, even when the operating system is not running,” said Jason Banta, CVP and General Manager, OEM Client Computing, AMD.  “AMD Ryzen™ PRO 6000 Series processors with Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 enable next generation business laptops to have the processing and connectivity tools needed to perform in modern environments, offering professional-strength remote manageability for users in the new, hybrid workplace.

AMD said that it will cooperate with OEM manufacturers to provide leading commercial platforms with Qualcomm to meet the new needs of enterprise users and IT departments.
