Word for Mac now supports switching between dark and light modes

Microsoft has previously revealed that it is preparing for the dark mode in the Microsoft Office series of software. The dark mode here refers to the dark mode of the content, not the border style of the Office software.

The problem with the dark mode of the content lies in the color matching. It is actually very easy to switch the main interface from a white background to a dark background, but what should I do with fonts of different colors? This is actually a problem for Microsoft. Now users who use MacOS can try the new Microsoft Word for Mac beta version to see how the dark mode works.

To enable this feature, click Settings, General, Appearance, and select dark mode. Once Dark Mode is set, you can toggle between the black and white page background colors by selecting View > Switch Modes from the ribbon. The version requires Word for Mac Insider 16.49.21050201 or newer. This version is currently a beta version and will not be pushed to the stable version channel until the test is completed.

The dark mode in Word currently mainly processes the basic font colors. For example, darker fonts such as black or gray will be displayed in white or gray after switching to the dark mode, which ensures that the main content is easy to read. The other colors depend on whether the color belongs to the dark category. If it is not a particularly dark color, Word will not process it, that is, it will still be displayed in the original color after switching to the dark mode.
