Windows Server Preview Build 22526 Releases: based-on Windows 11
At present, the latest version of the Windows Server is version 2022, which was released in the fall of 2021, and the next update will wait until 2024. Windows Server 2022 is built on Windows 10 version 21H2, so it will take 3 years to use Windows 11-based builds. But it seems that Microsoft’s development speed is still quite fast. The vNEXT version released by Microsoft earlier this month has been tested and verified that it has been developed based on Windows 11. It’s just that the next update will have to wait until at least fall 2024 when Windows Server 2024 and Windows 11 LTSC 2023 will also be released.
Windows Server Preview Build 22526 (vNEXT channel) was released by Microsoft on January 5, and Microsoft did not detail the content of this version. But Microsoft emphasizes that this is a technical preview of Windows Server’s next Server Long-Term Servicing Channel, LTSC, available in Standard and Datacenter editions. This version was developed based on Windows 11, which should be the first server system based on Windows 11. The kernel version is Windows NT 10.0.22000, and it has a new version of the start menu and resource manager, which is not much different from the Windows 11 system as a whole.
Of course, this is an early preview version that is only suitable for the virtual machine installation experience. According to Microsoft’s previous public statement, the new LTSC version will not be released until at least 2024.
