Windows 365 Cloud PC now supports Windows 11
Earlier when Microsoft launched Windows 365 Cloud PC, many netizens should have a three-month trial period, and the free trial period should expire.
Now the cloud computer service launched by Microsoft has begun to support Windows 11 system, and business customers can choose Windows 11 system when they create new devices.
However, Microsoft has not yet clearly stated when the devices that have been created will support the Windows 11 upgrade, at least for the time being, the cloud computer has not yet popped up a prompt to upgrade to the new version of the system.
If the user downloads the Windows 11 iso image file to upgrade, it should be possible to upgrade, but for safety considerations, be sure to back up important files in advance.
Enterprise customers can create Windows 11 Cloud PC through Windows 365 Enterprise from now on, or continue to choose Windows 10 system.
If you need to run Windows 11 system, the minimum configuration of cloud computers is a combination of 2vCPU and 4GB memory. Cloud computers with a lower configuration do not support Windows 11 system.
In addition, the Windows 11 Cloud PC option will only appear when the cloud computer virtual hardware configuration is supported. If it does not appear, it means the hardware is not supported.
This shows that the current Microsoft cloud computer system may still have some device processors and trusted platform modules that do not support it. Of course, Microsoft should continue to upgrade in the future.
Microsoft explains how organizations can upgrade their package to Windows 11:
“If you want to support in-place upgrades from Windows 10 to Windows 11, Cloud PCs need to be turned on the day of October 5th or after. For those organizations that need to re-provision their Cloud PCs, because we leverage OneDrive Known Folder Move as one of the standard services, the process will be seamless. Your end users’ personal data is automatically backed-up and will be restored after the re-provisioning process. Simply ensure that they are assigned a OneDrive license.”
