Recently, Microsoft releases Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22518 to the Dev Channel. This version provides several new features, including a collection of Spotlight wallpapers, Voice Access, and a new entry for Widgets in the taskbar.
The Spotlight collection backgrounds can keep the desktop fresh, and users can receive pictures from all over the world every day and learn the interesting stories behind them.
Here is how you can try out Spotlight collection:
- Right-click on your desktop and choose “Personalize”.
- On the Personalization settings page, choose “Background”.
- Under the “Personalize your background” dropdown, select “Spotlight collection”.
Voice Access includes an interactive guide that explains how to use voice to complete common tasks. The user can interact with the computer used through this function, such as opening and switching applications through voice, or simulating the operation of the mouse and keyboard.
Users can install WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux) from the
Microsoft Store. Installing WSL from the Microsoft Store will make it easier to get updates in the future, which is more convenient for users. Starting from this version, Microsoft has made some changes in the underlying platform to improve the overall efficiency and reliability of the switcher that uses multiple keyboard languages and layouts.
Microsoft specifically mentioned in the update instructions that due to some usage problems, this version of Windows 11 will not be provided to ARM64 PCs and is still being repaired.
