ECS releases a new generation of LIVA Z3 and Z3E mini hosts

At the end of 2017, Intel launched the low-cost, low-power platform processor Gemini Lake, which was previously widely used in mini PCs. Now Gemini Lake has been discontinued, and its successor is the Jasper Lake processor. Compared with Gemini Lake, Jasper Lake has a significant improvement in performance and power consumption. Recently, PC manufacturer ECS has launched two mini-hosts equipped with Intel Jasper Lake processors, the models are LIVA Z3 and LIVA Z3E.

The main difference between the two is the size. First, let’s talk about their common point, in terms of performance configuration, both LIVA Z3 and LIVA Z3E can be equipped with Intel N6000, N5100 quad-core processor, or N4500 dual-core processor. Compared with the previous generation processor, the performance is improved by 35%. The above processors are all built by the 10nm process, and the graphics card is an integrated core graphics card. Both also provide 2 SO-DIMM memory slots, up to 16GB DDR4 memory can be selected.

The difference is that the LIVA Z3 has a lighter and thinner body with a size of 117 x 128 x 35mm. It can only be compatible with 128GB storage or equipped with an M.2 PCIe 2280 SSD. The host provides three USB 3.2 Gen 1 interfaces, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C interface, two USB 2.0 interfaces, and one M.2 2230 wireless network card interface

As for the LIVA Z3E host, its body is relatively thick and heavy, with a size of 117 x 128 x 52.9mm, using 2 COM ports, and can also be equipped with a 2.5-inch SATA HDD/SSD. The interface is similar to the previous LIVA Z3.
