Windows 10 will gradually remove the Snipping Tool
Since Windows 7, Microsoft has provided the Snipping Tool in the system. I believe that some users still use this tool.
However, in Windows 10, Microsoft has developed a new screenshot application, namely Snip and Sketch. The application not only supports screenshots but also supports simple editing.
When there are new tools to replace the old tools, the old tools will naturally be gradually abandoned, so in the Windows 10 development version, Microsoft plans to gradually abandon the Snipping Tool.
For now, it still depends on whether the user needs the tool, because Microsoft did not directly delete the tool but allows users to uninstall this tool.
At present, Microsoft has updated the Snipping Tool through the backend server. When the user opens the Snipping Tool, the user will see the new prompt content of Microsoft.
In the content of the prompt, Microsoft said that the screenshot tool will be moved to a new app, and the default application called when the user uses Win+Shift+S keys to take a screenshot.
In the Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 21277 version, Microsoft said that if users do not need it, they can actively stop the Snipping Tool via the Optional Features page in Settings.
In fact, the tool is now an optional feature, so users are allowed to delete or reinstall it. At least the current system continues to pre-install this tool.
In subsequent versions of Windows 10, Microsoft may no longer pre-install the Snipping Tool. At that time, users can still actively download and install it in the optional features.
