Windows 10 October Update Backup and Restore tool seems to have been abandoned

Microsoft has already released the official version of Windows 10 Version 1809 and started pushing it, but it was withdrawn by Microsoft after the file loss problem.

Despite this, many users have actively or passively upgraded to the new version, of course, the new version has no accidents and various messy problems.

For example, recently Microsoft official support forum has a lot of users feedback backup and restore tools, this is a backup tool provided in the old operating system.

In a post on Microsoft’s forums, several users confirm that they can’t create a backup of their data, as the process fails with various errors, including 0x80070013.

“Same here on 2 different computers, one with an internal HDD for backup purposes, the other with an external one. Backup stops with error code 0x80070013 on both machines at every try. Neither of the dedicated backup drives is write protected. Very frustrating, since everything was working flawlessly before the latest update (1809, 17763.1),” one user says.

Microsoft said backup and restore tools are no longer supported to recommend a full-disk backup solution from other vendors, which is an official statement of the current issue.
