Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 21286 Releases
Microsoft has launched Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 21286, which has been pushed to users who use the Dev channel. This new version provides some new features and improvements to the built-in components of the system. Earlier we have mentioned that Microsoft has added weather and news information modules to the taskbar.
In addition to these functions, Microsoft has also improved the modern storage space settings and subsystems. Interested users can download the developer beta for the experience.
Modernized Storage Spaces Settings
Microsoft has developed a new Storage Spaces setting, this tool is not used to replace the Disk Utility, but to replace the storage pool settings in the control panel.
Microsoft said that the new Storage Spaces settings make it easier to create storage pools and storage spaces, including adding, deleting, and optimizing storage spaces and storage pools.
Run commands on start up in the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL)
This time, Microsoft has also improved the functions of the subsystem. The newly added option can execute any command when the subsystem is started, which can be regarded as a startup command.
The user needs to edit the /etc/wsl.conf configuration file of the subsystem and add the option titled command under the boot section to complete the automated command. You can refer to the sample files provided by Microsoft to adjust the related commands as needed.
Improving your experience when transitioning between time zones
Finally, in this update, Microsoft has also improved the automatic time zone setting function of date and time settings. When the system automatically switches the time zone, a notification will automatically pop up.
Microsoft said that when a high-confidence location change is detected, the system will automatically update the time zone, and then the system will pop up a notification for the user to confirm or reset.
When a low-confidence location change is detected, the system will not automatically update the time zone, but a prompt will pop up to ask the user whether to adjust the time zone according to the detection data.
