Western Digital launches its first PCIe 4.0 SSD SN850
Western Digital recently announced the launch of the WD Black disk series SN850. This solid-state drive supports PCIe 4.0 protocol and can provide a maximum read speed of 7000MB per second.
Its writing speed can also reach 5300MB per second, which is 200% of its predecessor SN750. SN850 is mainly for gamers to provide players with the highest performance.
Western Digital said that large-scale games have very high requirements for hard disk I/O. The ultra-high-speed read and write speeds help speed up game loading and speed up the fluency of the game.

Although it belongs to the WD Black series, Western Digital emphasizes that this solid-state disk is not suitable for additional network storage (NAS) and server environments and is only recommended for gamers.
At present, this solid-state drive is mainly available in 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB versions, and the 500GB version without a heat sink is priced at $149.99, which is the same as Samsung.
Western Digital also launched the AN 1500 solid-state drive of the Black Disk series. This solid-state drive is based on PCIe Gen 3 x 8 interface and therefore has multi-channel support.
The 2TB version and 4TB version have a read speed of 6500MB per second and a write speed of 4100MB per second, which is suitable for configuring a RAID 0 to form a disk array.
It also supports customizing the attached RGB lights on the Windows 10 platform. The 1TB version starts at $299.99, and the new hard drive will be available soon.
