Verizon launches new search engine OneSearch that focus on privacy
Recently, Yahoo’s parent company, Verizon launched a new search engine OneSearch that does not reference the Yahoo brand. The official promise is that the new search engine will not share user search results with advertisers. It doesn’t customize search results based on the user ’s search history.
Verizon Media consumer product director Michael Albers said in a statement that on one search, users can “search the internet with increased confidence, knowing your personal and search data isn’t being tracked, stored, or shared with advertisers.”
Currently, more and more browsers claim to focus on protecting user privacy, including Brave and DuckDuckGo, and ad and tracker blocking extensions such as Ghostery. As for why Verizon will launch a new search engine when it already has Yahoo, it is not revealed.
