Users complain that Surface Pro 7’s battery life is worse than the previous generation
When talking about technology products, we naturally think that new products have improved in all aspects compared to the previous generation products. However, we have discovered through some recent public opinion news on Surface Pro 7, that Surface Pro 7 has not done better in all aspects than Surface Pro 6. According to some feedback from users who have purchased Surface Pro 7, Surface Pro 7’s battery life is worse than previous generations and is far below user expectations.
On Reddit one user notes:
Do we know WHY Surface Pro 7 battery life is worse than 6?
The CPU and RAM are more power efficient, and the rest has not changed much. It seems that battery life should at least be the same as the 5/6 but has gone down. Do we have any insight as to why? I would understand some if it was worse due to GPU tasks, with the IRIS GPU, but even just normal usage it seems people are saying they are getting noticeably less life.

Surface Pro 7 Battery Life (self.Surface)
So I got my Surface Pro 7 today and I used it to set everything up and just browse the internet for a while and watch a few videos on Youtube. To my surprise, the battery only lasted for about 5 hours… Which is a huge let down because one of the major reasons I got it was for the portability factor and the battery life
Microsoft realized this problem a month ago and pushed a Surface Firmware 14.42.139.0 update that would “extend battery life”, but user feedback that this update didn’t help, and it didn’t help to extend battery life. Some netizens suspect that the problem is caused by a recent cumulative update of Windows 10.
In the product promotion, Microsoft said that Surface Pro 7 can provide 10.5 hours of battery life, but in fact, it is difficult for the reviewers and users to continue to use it for 6 hours.
