Ubuntu Touch OTA-10 released
Ubuntu Touch OTA-10 is released. Ubuntu Touch is a mobile version of the Ubuntu operating system by UBports. This release polishes up this stage of Ubuntu Touch development and includes many small fixes that should please all users. It also contains some hardware compatibility improvements for the Nexus 5, Fairphone 2, and Oneplus One.
The Fairphone 2 Android camera orientation was checked correctly, bugs were fixed, and all Fairphone 2 camera versions are now successfully used. At the same time, in the process, the Android data of some old devices was found to be incorrect, so the development team added the manual recovery system option in the automatic check. This is done in a modular way so that anyone in the future can solve the problem. These fixes also apply to Nexus 5 and Oneplus One.
The issue of audio and video syncing while recording video has also been fixed. It also solves some of the problems with Fairphone 2 audio routing. On the other hand, this release removes the Wi-Fi-based geolocation tool wolfpack. The module uses the Geoclue service to collect approximate location data, which results in very inaccurate positioning in some cases. In almost all cases, removing the module can improve the reliability of the location service.
