Ubuntu 19.04 (Disco Dingo) Beta is available for testing
The Ubuntu 19.04 (Disco Dingo) official version is scheduled to be released on April 18 this year, and today Canonical released the Ubuntu 19.04 Beta version. The new version is equipped with the recently released Linux Kernel 5.0 and GNOME 3.32 desktop environment. Currently, installation images are now open for download.
Ubuntu 19.04 also includes the latest components, including GCC 8.3, Glibc 2.29, Boost 1.67, rustc 1.31, Python 3.7.2, Ruby 2.5.3, PHP 7.2.15, Perl 5.28.1, Golang 1.10.4, libvvirt 5.0, QEMU 3.1 and OpenJDK 11. In addition, this version also installs the latest Mozilla Firefox 66.0 web browser and LibreOffice 6.2.2 office suite by default.
Among the other new features of Ubuntu 19.04 (Disco Dingo), it is worth noting that it supports the management of Thunderbolt devices in the settings. Desktop zoom and window previews become smoother. XDG Portals supports Snap format and supports fingerprints to unlock Ubuntu. The GS Connect app connects to Android devices.
