The Wii U and Nintendo 3DS digital storefronts are shutting down on March 27th, 2023
As previously announced by Nintendo, the eShop services for Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS will be officially closed on March 27th, 2023.
After the closure, purchasing functions for digital games, DLC content, in-game items, and others will be discontinued, but digital games that players have previously purchased can still be downloaded.
Nintendo started announcing the closure of eShop services for Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS last year, and since August last year, players have been prohibited from storing value.
Many players are unhappy with Nintendo’s decision to close the eShop services for Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, as they will not be able to purchase digital games for Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS that were only available through the eShop service. In addition, they will have to face the skyrocketing prices of second-hand physical game discs, but will not be able to purchase digital games at normal prices through the eShop service.
