The White House is drafting an executive order to investigate giants such as Google and FB thoroughly
Bloomberg News posted yesterday that the White House is drafting an executive order requiring government agencies to thoroughly investigate network technology companies to clarify whether there is a technology company that abuses its advantages and creates a market monopoly.
A White House official said the draft was in its early stages and had not been consulted by other government agencies. The White House did not name any of the Internet technology companies in the draft, but it is expected to include companies such as Google, Facebook, and Twitter. The purpose of the executive order is to ensure the fairness of competition on the online platform while providing that these technology giants will not use their advantages to create the market monopoly, which in turn affects users’ choice of rights.
White House press secretary Lindsey Walters stated in an e-mail that the source of the document is unknown and is not based on the White House’s official policy process. In the Washington Post report, a senior White House official confirmed that the document has been circulating, but its appearance has not been formalized.
