The sales volume of RTX 4070 is not as good as expected
NVIDIA has unveiled the GeForce RTX 4070, based on the Ada Lovelace architecture, with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $599. Gamers have noticed that despite the graphics card’s recent debut, the GeForce RTX 4070 has experienced a degree of price reduction. It has been reported that NVIDIA offered a $50 rebate per card to partners.
According to Boardchannels, the GeForce RTX 4070 has underperformed in sales since its launch. NVIDIA has internally discussed remedial measures, intending to limit supply and stabilize the pricing structure as the primary strategy.
To curb Chinese partners’ price-cutting practices on the lowest-spec GeForce RTX 4070 products, NVIDIA has decided to intervene, notifying Chinese partners of a one-month supply cut for the GeForce RTX 4070 chips. It is expected that the lowest-spec models may face shortages. Channel dealers are advised to confirm stock availability before accepting orders and urged not to engage in arbitrary price-cutting.
It seems that the recent breaches of the GeForce RTX 4070’s pricing may prove difficult for NVIDIA to accept. After this restructuring, such occurrences should become less frequent. AMD’s Radeon RX 7900 series graphics cards have also been continuously lowering their prices. It remains to be seen whether the GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards will continue this practice once prices stabilize.
Rumor has it that NVIDIA will introduce the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti next month, possibly followed by the RTX 4060. Meanwhile, AMD’s Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards, based on the Navi 32 and Navi 33 architectures, may only be unveiled after this year’s Computex.
