The next Windows 10 version code will be 1809
Several recent Windows Insider previews of Windows 10 did not provide many new features, mainly to fix bugs. The latest news revealed that the development of a significant update under Window 10 completed, and the version mark was changed. Microsoft officially named it in 1809. Microsoft plans to complete RC development in September and officially launch in October.
1809 will be the fifth and final version of the Windows version codenamed “Redstone.” The next version is expected to be released in April 2019 under the symbol “19H1”, and the code and version numbers are named based on the date. Since the last big update, Microsoft seems to have given up on the name of the update but instead called the update based on the year and month of the update release.
Microsoft currently considers Windows 10 as a service, releasing a significant update every six months, and it has released five major updates so far: November Update (1511), Anniversary Update, Creators Update and Fall Creators Update, and the first half of the year. Version 1803 is released. Version 1809 does not introduce many new features, mainly including dark theme, clipboard support for synchronisation between devices, Notepad supports Unix line breaks, Linux subsystem supports SSH and so on.
