The former Creative Director of Halo: Infinite departs Microsoft to join Netflix

Following his departure as Creative Director for Halo Infinite, Joseph Staten recently confirmed that he swiftly joined Netflix, where he has begun crafting an original AAA game.

At Netflix, Staten serves as Creative Director and is developing a game based on the company’s original content assets. He aims to attract more players through cross-platform gameplay features.

Though Staten has not disclosed which Netflix original content asset is being adapted into a game, an announcement is anticipated in the near future. During his tenure at Bungie, Staten worked as a writer and content director for the “Halo” series and as a co-creative director for the “Destiny” franchise. After leaving Bungie in 2013, he joined Microsoft in 2014 as a Senior Creative Director for Xbox Game Studios and later transitioned to 343 Industries in 2020, where he oversaw content production for Halo Infinite.

Evidently, amid recent organizational restructuring at 343 Industries and the uncertain future of the “Halo” series, Staten decided to part ways with the company.
