Synology launches DiskStation DS423+: Featuring four bays and dual M.2 SSD slots

Synology announces the launch of DiskStation DS423+, featuring a four-bay design, as the latest product in its integrated storage solution for home offices and small businesses. The new NAS comes equipped with the versatile Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) 7.1.1 operating system, offering comprehensive solutions for data protection and management, facilitating file collaboration, providing remote file access, and serving as the core of an IP camera-based surveillance system.

The DiskStation DS423+ has overall dimensions of 166 mm x 199 mm x 223 mm and weighs 2.18 kg, housing four 3.5-inch drive bays. It can accommodate up to four 3.5-inch HDDs or 2.5-inch SATA SSDs/HDDs for storing, organizing, and sharing up to 72 TB of data, supporting RAID 0/1/5/6/10. Additionally, there are two M.2 2280 NVMe SSD slots for enabling SSD caching or creating SSD storage pools. Synology also offers its tailor-made SNV3410 series SSDs (400 GB/800 GB) for purchase.

Powered by an Intel Celeron J4125 processor, the DiskStation DS423+ features a quad-core, four-thread design with a base frequency of 2.0 GHz, a turbo frequency of 2.7 GHz, 4 MB of L3 cache, UHD Graphics 600, and a 10W TDP, manufactured using 14 nm technology. It comes with 2 GB of DDR4 memory, which users can expand up to 6 GB (2 GB + 4 GB). In addition to two RJ45 gigabit LAN ports, the new device also has two USB 3.2 Gen1 ports for connecting external devices.

Synology integrates data protection features, designing a cohesive hardware and software data protection mechanism for user data security. As a manager for your documents, photos, and other files, the DiskStation DS423+ supports an exclusive private cloud for seamless data access, multi-tiered backups, and intelligent monitoring.
