Steam Conquers Gaming World: 35 Million Users Online

On March 2, 2024, Valve’s Steam platform witnessed a historic surge in online users, shattering previous records with over 34 million individuals logging in, culminating at 34,298,950 users. Active players engaged in games also surpassed 11 million, reaching 11,139,189 participants.

Merely a week later, on March 10, 2024, data from SteamDB indicated that the Steam platform achieved a new zenith in online user numbers, breaking through the 35 million mark to register 35,385,530 users. The count of gamers actively playing at this time was 11,117,276. Preceding this, on March 9, 2024, the number of players actively engaged in games also exceeded the peak of the previous weekend, achieving a new high of 11,155,445.

It should be noted that the metric of online user count does not wholly reflect the degree of player engagement, as it remains unclear how many users are actively gaming. This data includes those who have merely opened the Steam client, regardless of whether they are actively engaged in other activities.

In terms of specific games, “CS2” continues to dominate the leaderboard, followed by familiar titles such as “Dota 2,” “PUBG,” “Apex Legends,” with the recently popular “Subnautica: Below Zero” experiencing a slight drop in ranking but still securing the fifth spot. Other popular games include “Naraka: Bladepoint,” “Source SDK Base 2007,” “GTA V,” “Paladins,” and “Last Epoch,” while “Baldur’s Gate III” has fallen out of the top ten.
