Sony has launched the Creators’ App, allowing for greater efficiency in image creation through cloud integration

In September 2022, after providing the Creators’ Cloud service for professional and enterprise users, Sony announced the launch of a new Creators’ App for individual creators and small work teams. The app includes cloud storage space for uploading both dynamic and static images in real-time, the use of the image collaboration platform “Ci Media Cloud,” and the “Discover” community feature for creators to share and communicate with one another.

The Creators’ Cloud service allows users to share photos and videos between devices such as mobile phones and tablets. For certain camera models, it even allows for the uploading of photos and other content to the cloud. Additionally, the service provides a base storage space of 5GB, while specific models can receive up to 25GB of storage capacity.

The primary addition to the service with this update is the “Discover” community feature, which allows creators to share their images and explore various creative styles. Through sharing images, users can also learn about the camera, lens, and related settings used by the photographer, as well as the location where the image was taken, to further develop their own skills in composition and framing.

As for the Creators’ App, it serves as the successor to Imaging Edge Mobile Plus and allows creators to remotely control the camera using their phone for shooting, updating firmware, and viewing and changing camera settings.

Currently, only users of the α7 IV and ZV-1F cameras can upload their creative images to the Creators’ Cloud service through the Creators’ App. In the future, more camera models are expected to be supported. In response to the launch of the Creators’ App for individual creators, the C3Portal App that was originally provided for enterprise users will also be renamed as Creators’ App for the enterprise.
