Sony confirms to unveil the new flagship earphone WH-1000XM5 on May 13th

A few days ago, it was reported that Sony may update its flagship full-cover and true wireless Bluetooth noise-canceling headphones in the near future. Sony earlier confirmed that it will hold the “Your World Start Here” online event at 9:00 a.m. Japan time on May 13th, almost revealing that the new product will be the new flagship full-cover earphone WH-1000XM5.

However, it is not yet possible to confirm whether another true wireless Bluetooth noise-canceling headset will also be announced simultaneously. It just happens to be two days after Sony Mobile is expected to announce the new Xperia flagship phone on May 11. Whether there will be a special connection between the two has not yet been confirmed.
At present, the actual boxed Sony WH-1000XM5 has also appeared on the Internet. It can also be seen that the new earphones will also follow the LinkBuds with environmentally friendly packaging, which echoes Sony’s recent emphasis on the concept of moving towards the goal of zero carbon emissions.

According to the previous exposure news, the appearance of the Sony WH-1000XM5 will adopt a more concise shape, and the earmuffs are obviously thicker, which may be to ensure the comfort and tightness of wearing, thereby reducing external sound interference.

However, although the left and right earmuffs still maintain the horizontally rotatable design, they no longer seem to provide a foldable storage structure, and the earmuffs and other parts may be made of recycled plastic materials compared to the LinkBuds headphones.
