Sony Announces Pulse Explore True Wireless Earbuds and Pulse Elite Wireless Over-Ear Headphones

Sony recently announced the release dates for its Pulse Explore True Wireless Earbuds and Pulse Elite Wireless Over-Ear Headphones. The former will debut in markets including Japan, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, and Portugal, commencing December 6th. Meanwhile, the latter is slated for a February 21, 2024 release.

Starting November 9th, both headphone models will be available for pre-order. The Pulse Explore True Wireless Earbuds are priced at $199 or ¥29,980, while the recommended retail price for the Pulse Elite Wireless Over-Ear Headphones stands at $249.99 or ¥18,980.

Previously branded as the PlayStation Earbuds, the Pulse Explore represents PlayStation’s maiden foray into true wireless earbuds. Compatible with both the PlayStation 5 and PCs, they can seamlessly connect with mobile devices via Bluetooth. These earbuds also offer an impeccable and low-latency auditory experience through the PlayStation Link wireless audio transmission. Designed with a planar diaphragm driver, and accompanied by the PlayStation’s 3D audio output, they promise an enriched, immersive sonic journey. Additionally, they harness AI-driven noise reduction capabilities during calls.

Conversely, the Pulse Elite Wireless Over-Ear Headphones employ a similar planar diaphragm design and support the PlayStation 3D audio output. They, too, are compatible with the PlayStation Link wireless audio transmission. Their over-ear design is accentuated with a microphone that tucks neatly into the ear cup.

Both headphone models can pair with the PlayStation Portal handheld device via Bluetooth. Yet, to utilize the PlayStation Link connection, a dedicated USB receiver is imperative.

Regarding the recently unveiled PlayStation Portal handheld console — priced at $199 or ¥29,980 — it is set to penetrate the market on November 15th of this year, with pre-orders already initiated.
