Solidigm will provide warranty for Intel SSD from October 2022
At the end of last year, Intel issued an announcement confirming that it had received $7 billion from SK Hynix’s first-phase exchange payment. SK Hynix bought the NAND flash memory business including Intel’s factory in Dalian, China. Subsequently, SK Hynix established a subsidiary called Solidigm, which transferred the storage business related to the acquisition of Intel. It is headquartered in San Jose, California, and the CEO is Rob Crooke, a veteran Intel employee.
Solidigm released the P41 Plus this month, its first consumer-grade SSD, replacing Intel’s original 670P.
It has three forms of M.2 2280/2242/2230 to meet various needs of retail and OEM markets. Using the PCIe 4.0 x4 interface, the maximum continuous read speed of the SSD is 4125MB/s, the continuous write speed is 3325MB/s, the maximum random read and write IOPS are 390K and 540K respectively, and the warranty period is 5 years.
According to Wccftech, Solidigm will now provide a warranty for Intel SSD from October 2022, and has also updated the after-sales process:
- Consumers may not merge tickets for NAND SSD warranty issues created through the Portal or Agent Interactive Support with other Intel products. If you apply for multiple NAND SSD warranties, they can be combined into the same warranty issue ticket. All other Intel products can be consolidated into another warranty issue ticket.
- A separate return request must be created for NAND SSDs. Shipping documentation (e.g., waybill, commercial invoice) and packaging must be prepared separately (i.e., NAND SSDs and other Intel products must not be mixed in one box).
- Please read the shipping guide carefully for information on your NAND SSD product (including the recipient of the return address) to avoid delays.
