Simply NUC unveils new Porcoolpine mini PC
Simply NUC, a firm devoted to the development of NUC computers, and one which we have previously reported on for some of its commercial products, has once again launched a new product. Citing Liliputing, this latest addition is dubbed the Arena Canyon Porcoolpine, falling under the Porcoolpine product line. The device’s standout feature is its fanless design, consequently making it larger in size than the conventional NUC.
The baseline configuration of the Arena Canyon Porcoolpine is equipped with an i3-1315U, supplemented by two higher-specification processors as alternatives: the i5-1340P and i7-1360P. The memory and hard drive configuration remain consistent, both featuring 4GB DDR4-3200 memory and a 256GB NVMe hard drive. Of course, users have the option to upgrade to 64GB of memory and a total of 16TB storage space, as the device possesses an M.2 2280 slot and a 2.5-inch hard drive position.
In terms of I/O interfaces, the Arena Canyon Porcoolpine furnishes two HDMI 2.1, two Thunderbolt 4, one 2.5G Ethernet port, three USB 3.2 Type-A, one USB 2.0 Type-A, and one 3.5mm audio port. Additionally, it boasts an expansion card, which can add an extra 2.5G Ethernet port to the device. Its power port is a DC round port with an input of 19V/120W. Despite the device’s conspicuous dual antennas seen in the image, a wireless network card is not standard. To avail of this feature, users must add $35 for an optional AX211, while the AX211 with vPro functionality comes at a price of $45.
As for pricing, the i3 version of the Arena Canyon Porcoolpine begins at $779, the i5 variant starts at $919, while the starting price for the i7 model is $1049.
