Silicon Power introduces US70 SSD with speeds of 5000 MB/s read

It is not new for SSDs to kill mechanical hard drives in terms of speed, but now some solid-state drives can reach more than 10 times the speed of mechanical hard drives.

In terms of capacity, with the development and maturity of TLC, QLC, and even PLC technology, the NVMe SSD can easily reach the TB level.

For example, the Taiwanese manufacturer Silicon Power recently launched a new NVMe 1.3 SSD, US70 with a capacity of up to 2TB, and the read speed can even soar to 5000MB/s.

With the gradual popularization of PCIe 4.0, storage manufacturers have begun to introduce new products. The advantage of using PCIe 4.0 for these new products is that the speed continues to increase.

At present, the reading speed of mainstream NVMe SSDs is usually good at 3000MB/s. The reading speed of Silicon Power’s new products can already reach 5000MB per second.

In terms of writing speed, the new US70 of Silicon Power has a writing speed of up to 4400MB per second. Currently, only 1TB and 2TB of NVMe 2280 versions are available in terms of size.

Compatible with PCIe 3.0 x 4 and NVMe 1.3 and below, as long as it is equipped with NVMe 2280 interface, it can be installed no matter it is a desktop, notebook, or thin and light laptop.

In terms of the warranty, the manufacturer provides a 5-year limited warranty. At present, the US70 series has not yet been listed and the price has not been announced.
