Samsung will use 8nm process to produce Snapdragon 750 chips for Qualcomm
Earlier, some media reported that due to the difficult production of Samsung’s 5nm EUV process, all orders for Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 chips were missed. However, there was conclusive news that Samsung and Qualcomm reached a full OEM order for the $850 million Snapdragon 875 chip, which is estimated to solve the problem of the difficult production of the 5nm process.
Today, some media said that Samsung has reached a new deal with Qualcomm. The content of the transaction is that Qualcomm let Samsung be responsible for the foundry of the Snapdragon 750 chip. It is reported that Samsung will use the 8nm process to produce the Snapdragon 750 chip. This chip will use an integrated 5G modem.
Secondly, it can be seen from the name that its performance is weaker than the Snapdragon 765 chip, which also means that we will see this chip on more cheap models.
The Snapdragon 875 chip manufactured by Samsung will appear at the Snapdragon Tech Summit held at Qualcomm on December 1 this year. Because it uses ARM’s super core, it will be the only one that can compete with Apple in terms of performance.
