Samsung has confirmed that it will be removing ads from its pre-installed apps
Samsung will cancel the ads on its proprietary apps. The so-called proprietary apps refer to apps developed by Samsung and pre-installed on Samsung phones.
Including Samsung Weather, Samsung Pay, Samsung Themes, and Samsung Stock Apps, Samsung said the ads for these apps will be completely deleted later this year. Samsung said this will help provide users with a better experience.
In the statement, Samsung mainly mentioned advertisements on its own software, but as you know, the entire Android system can be filled with advertisements and is not limited to its own apps.
Some manufacturers even add advertisements in the system settings and the application installation completion interface. The most damning thing is that even the input method is stuffed with advertisements.
In consultation with the media, Samsung said that in addition to Samsung’s proprietary software, Samsung will also clean up advertisements that appear elsewhere, because this is determined based on feedback.
Samsung said that user feedback is mainly to stop displaying ads, so Samsung’s strategy of removing ads will cover the entire operating system, except of course third-party software.
The first Samsung phone with no ads may be the Galaxy S22, which will be launched later this year, and ads will be deleted when other models of devices get updated.
