On February 9th, 2022, at the Unpacked 2022 event, Samsung not only launched the Galaxy S22 series smartphones but also introduced the Galaxy Tab S8 series tablets, including the Ultra model for the first time. According to reports from Sammobile, the Galaxy Tab S9 series tablets are expected to be released in the second half of this year, including three models: the Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+, and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. There will be Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi+5G versions, with specific model numbers listed as follows:

Rumors suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series tablets will feature IP67 dust and water resistance, making them potentially the only high-end tablets in the world with this protection level. It is reported that the Galaxy Tab S9 series tablets will be equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen2 platform, customized for Samsung (Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy), as well as the latest versions of Android (13) and One UI (5.1). Improvements to the camera and the inclusion of four stereo speakers, fingerprint recognition, and more advanced software features are also expected.
Last year’s Galaxy Tab S8 series tablets, the Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S8+, and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, had screen sizes of 11 inches, 12.4 inches, and 14.6 inches, respectively. The Tab S8 used an LTPS TFT screen with a resolution of 2560×1600, while the Tab S8+ and Tab S8 Ultra used Super AMOLED screens with resolutions of 2800×1752 and 2960×1848, respectively and supported 240Hz high refresh rates. This year’s Galaxy Tab S9 series tablets may continue with the same screen sizes and resolutions, but some models may switch to OLED screens.
