According to
Boardchannels, relevant supply chain sources said from upstream news that Nvidia’s mid-range graphics card product line RTX2060S, RTX2060, GTX1660S, and GTX1660 four series have stopped production. The current inventory will be digested by the brand owners, and Nvidia will fill the vacancy in the mid-range graphics card market with the RTX30 series models in the future.
In January 2019, Nvidia released the GeForce RTX 2060 based on the Turing architecture at the CES exhibition and replaced the GeForce GTX 1060 as a new generation of low-level graphics cards, and its performance is only about 10% lower than that of the RTX 2070. Later, GeForce RTX 2060 Super and GeForce RTX 2060 12GB were launched, which further enriched the product line of RTX 2060. As Nvidia’s first low-level graphics card that supports ray tracing, RTX 2060 is favored by many players.
With the gradual entry of RTX 30 series graphics cards into the market, GeForce RTX 2060 also stopped production for a time, but due to the severe shortage of graphics cards in the market in early 2021, Nvidia then resumed supply to partners to alleviate the GPU shortage. Now, Nvidia has released RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 graphics cards, and RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 are also on the market. Nvidia may realize that RTX 2060 has completed its mission and should exit.
