Razer Updates Blade 14 Gaming Laptop: Added mercury color matching, support USB4

Recently, Razer brought three updates to the 2022 Blade 14 gaming notebook, including a new mercury color scheme, integrating the Microsoft Pluton chip, and upgrading the protocol supported by the two Type-C interfaces to USB4. Judging from the official pictures, the mercury color is very close to white. In addition to the existing pink crystal and black, there are currently three colors for Blade 14 on sale.

In terms of configuration, there is no difference between the mercury-colored Razer Blade 14 and the old model, both of which are equipped with an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processor; the graphics card is the GeForce RTX 3060 mobile version, and the highest optional GeForce RTX 3080 Ti mobile version; the memory is 16GB DDR5-4800, which cannot be replaced onboard; it adopts an FHD@144Hz display and the highest optional QHD@165Hz display.

Microsoft launched the Pluton security chip in November 2020, which aims to provide a combination of hardware and software security and improve the security of the Windows operating system. Subsequently, Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm announced that they would cooperate with Microsoft to build the Pluton security chip into the processor.

For the first time, AMD built a Pluton security chip on the Ryzen 6000 series processors, which can better protect the security of data such as user credentials and encrypted information and can also prevent attacks on the bus interface, making users more secure when using computers.
In addition, the original two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C interfaces of the Blade 14 will be upgraded to USB4 interfaces with a rate of up to 40 Gbps, while supporting PD charging and DP 1.4. Since USB4 itself is compatible with Intel’s Thunderbolt 3, the scalability of the Blade 14 has been further improved, for example, an external graphics card docking station can be selected.
