Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus benchmark results leaked
Qualcomm may be preparing to launch a faster version of Snapdragon, namely Snapdragon 888 Plus. Compared with the original version, it is only slightly different and the performance is improved.
According to Wccftech reports, the Snapdragon 888 Plus appeared in the Geekbench database recently. The change is that the Cortex-X1 core has a higher frequency than the Snapdragon 888. According to the test parameters, the frequency of the Cortex-X1 core of the Snapdragon 888 Plus is 3 GHz, while the frequency of the ordinary Snapdragon 888 is 2.84 GHz. The frequency of other cores is the same, which also follows the practice of Qualcomm in the past few years. The test results are also the same, at the same performance level, with only a small improvement.
In the past, Qualcomm’s only different approach was when it released the Snapdragon 865 Plus. Its CPU and GPU had higher frequencies, and it also received support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. Snapdragon 865 only supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1. Perhaps there are other changes in the Snapdragon 888 Plus this time, but they cannot be reflected in the current test. If there is an expectation, it is probably to optimize energy consumption to reduce heat generation.
It was previously reported that Qualcomm plans to launch a product called “Snapdragon 888 Pro”, which is being tested and is expected to be released in the third quarter of this year. I am not sure that this Snapdragon 888 Plus refers to the same SoC.
