Qualcomm Releases Snapdragon 782G Mobile Platform
A week after releasing Snapdragon 8 Gen2, Qualcomm recently released the Snapdragon 782G mobile platform. Qualcomm said that compared with the previous generation Snapdragon 778G+, the CPU performance of the Snapdragon 782G has increased by 5%, and the GPU performance has increased by 10%.
The Snapdragon 782G (SM7325-AF) is manufactured using TSMC’s 6nm process. The CPU part is a 1+3+4 triple-cluster architecture, including one Kryo 670 Prime@2.7GHz, three Kryo 670 Gold@2.2GHz, and four Kryo 670 Silver @1.9GHz; the GPU is Adreno 642L, supports OpenGL ES 3.2, OpenCL 2.0 FP, and Vulkan1.1, and supports HDR games and VRS (Variable Rate Shading), VRS allows applications to control the frequency of pixel shader calls independently of the resolution of the rendering target, bring better game performance; support up to 16GB of LP-DDR5 memory with a rate of 3200MHz and UFS3.1.
The Snapdragon 782G has the same built-in ISP as the Snapdragon 778G+: Spectra 570L, the ISP supports 10bit color depth, decoding of H.264, H.265, VP9, VP8, and other formats; supports simultaneous shooting of three 22-megapixel photos; supports 4K HDR video recording or 720P@240FPS slow-motion shooting.
The Snapdragon 782G uses the Hexagon AI intelligent engine and has dedicated AI memory for faster data transfers. The AI intelligent engine can improve the experience of video shooting and zooming under low brightness, and at the same time achieve background audio blurring and automatic volume adjustment with low power consumption.
In terms of mobile connection, the Snapdragon 782G uses the X53 modem, supports 5G millimeter wave and Sub-6GHz, and can provide a maximum download rate of 3.7Gbps and an upload rate of 1.6Gbps; at the same time, it also adopts the FastConnect 6700 mobile connection system, bringing WiFi6/6E support, and the peak download rate can reach 2.9Gpbs; support a variety of satellite positioning systems, including GPS, Glonass, Galileo, etc., and also support China’s Beidou satellite positioning system.
The Snapdragon 782G mobile platform is positioned in the mid-range market, and mobile phones equipped with the 782G mobile platform are already on the market.
