Qualcomm may release Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC on November 14
Qualcomm released the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor at the Snapdragon Summit at the end of November last year. If Qualcomm continues this release date this year, we will see the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor in the fourth quarter of this year, which will become the flagship SoC on high-end Android phones in 2023.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit is an annual conference where Qualcomm will showcase the latest technologies, including flagship SoCs for future Android phones. This year’s conference will be scheduled for November 14-17, two weeks earlier than last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 launch. Qualcomm’s phone partners will also be at the conference, where it’s possible to see new flagships powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
According to previous news, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will use a new set of CPU clusters, abandoning the original 1+3+4 configuration and changing to a 1+2+2+3 configuration. The GPU will use Adreno 740, and it is speculated that it will be produced using TSMC’s 4nm process. Although TSMC’s most advanced 3nm is currently, it is estimated that it will be packaged by Apple this year.
