Qualcomm announces strategic technology partnership with Ferrari
Qualcomm announced that Ferrari has become its latest partner in the automotive field and will carry out “strategic technology cooperation”. Qualcomm’s related automotive technology will enter Ferrari’s models to accelerate Ferrari’s digital transformation. Under the new agreement, Qualcomm will also be a sponsor of the Ferrari Formula 1 team, and the Snapdragon logo will appear on Ferrari’s F1-75 cars for the 2022 season. In addition, Ferrari’s esports team will also be part of the partnership.
“We believe innovation requires market leaders working together,” said Benedetto Vigna, CEO of Ferrari. “Thanks to this agreement with Qualcomm Technologies, we expand our knowledge in digital technologies and web 3.0 areas with great potential for automotive and motorsport. We believe valuable partnerships, and a distinctive Ferrari interpretation, ultimately enhances product excellence.”
“We are excited to see our automotive technology leadership play an integral role in this new strategic relationship with Ferrari,” said Cristiano Amon. “We look forward to helping shape what the future holds as we work together to bring world-class driving experiences to their customers through our Snapdragon Digital Chassis.”
Ferrari is the latest car brand to adopt Qualcomm’s suite of automotive technology, joining Volvo, Honda, Renault, and General Motors. Although there are already many partners, Qualcomm’s automotive technology is still in the early stages, and it will be a while before it becomes as widespread as the smartphone market.
