QNAP releases TS-1655 NAS: 8-core high performance and 16-bay high capacity
QNAP released the new TS-1655 NAS, equipped with Intel’s Atom eight-core processor, the body capacity supports the installation of twelve 3.5-inch HDDs and four 2.5-inch SSDs.
In terms of configuration, TS-1655 NAS is equipped with Intel Atom C5125 2.8 GHz octa-core processor, which supports the Intel QuickAssist hardware acceleration engine (Intel QAT). In terms of memory, it has built-in 8 GB DDR4 memory, with four UDIMM memory slots, which support expansion to 128 GB. At the same time, ECC memory can also be installed to better ensure the stable operation of the system. It supports the installation of dual 25GbE expansion cards, providing sequential read/write speeds of 3,499 MB/s and 2,465 MB/s respectively. In terms of network, TS-1655 is equipped with two 2.5GbE RJ45 (2.5G/1G/100M) network ports, which support Port Trunking to provide load balancing and fault tolerance. TS-1655 also supports SR-IOV and has 3 PCIe Gen3 slots for expansion cards.
In other aspects, TS-1655 supports the use of a snapshot mechanism to protect and restore data, which can better deal with threats when encountering encrypted ransomware, supports running virtual machines and software containers, and perform flexible local/remote/cloud backup, establishing Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 backup and restore solutions, establish cloud storage gateways, deploy hybrid cloud applications, and more.
