PulseAudio 11.0 released, cross-platform sound
PulseAudio (formerly Polypaudio) is a cross-platform, voice service that works over the network, which is typically used on Linux and the FreeBSD operating system. It can be used as a simple and improved open sound background (ESD) replacement.
PulseAudio runs on Microsoft Windows and POSIX-compatible systems like Linux and FreeBSD. PulseAudio is free software based on the GNU Lesser General Public License 2.1.
Cross-platform sound server PulseAudio 11.0 has been released.
Major changes include:
- Support more hardware, now support AirPlay hardware
- When you insert a USB sound card or connect a Bluetooth device, the system will select them first and no longer need to manually set the new device as the default
- Improve the memory function for hot-swap device configuration
- Fix the input device under Windows
- Support GNU Hurd kernel
- Supports 32-bit applications on 64-bit systems in padsp
