Philips unveils first Evnia 5000 series gaming monitors, 25M2N5200P
Philips has announced the launch of the first product in its Evnia 5000 series of gaming monitors, the 25M2N5200P. Catering to a young gaming audience, the Evnia brand has previously introduced several relatively high-end models, but this latest offering targets the mainstream segment, providing high refresh rates, low frame rate compensation, and low latency performance at a price point of €299.
The 25M2N5200P gaming monitor features a Fast IPS panel and W-LED backlight, 8-bit color depth, a 178° viewing angle, and a resolution of 1920 x 1080. When connected via the DisplayPort 1.4 interface, the monitor can achieve an overclocked refresh rate of 280Hz. The monitor boasts a response time of 0.5ms (MPRT), a peak brightness of 400 nits, a contrast ratio of 1000:1, 110% sRGB color gamut coverage, and support for AMD FreeSync Premium and Mega Infinity DCR technologies.
The 25M2N5200P gaming monitor is equipped with one DisplayPort 1.4 interface (supporting up to a 280Hz refresh rate) and two HDMI 2.0 interfaces (supporting up to a 240Hz refresh rate). The monitor also functions as a USB hub, featuring four USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports (two of which offer fast charging), as well as a 3.5mm audio jack.
Philips asserts that AMD FreeSync Premium can operate in tandem with Motion Blur Reduction (MBR) without causing image ghosting issues. Combined with SmartContrast and a 280Hz refresh rate, the 25M2N5200P gaming monitor delivers a swift, seamless, and lag-free gaming experience for players. Additionally, Philips has prepared an alternative model called the 25M2N3200W, which utilizes a VA panel and is slated to hit the market within the next few months.
